Echoes of Mill Creek: Reflecting on a Lost Neigborhood

Missouri History Museum

Sunday, June 7th at 2:00pm

5700 Lindell Blvd.

Saint Louis, MO 63112

Join the REDI (Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Committee for a meaningful afternoon at the Missouri History Museum on Sunday, June 7.

We will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. in the AT&T Multipurpose Room with a presentation by Gwen Moore, former Mill Creek resident and curator of Mill Creek: Black Metropolis. This powerful exhibit explores the rich history of Mill Creek Valley, a once-thriving center of Black life in St. Louis from the early 1900s until its destruction in 1959 in the name of urban renewal.

Following the presentation, participants are invited to enjoy a self-guided exploration of the exhibit until the museum closes at 5:00 p.m.

Afterward, those who are interested are welcome to continue the conversation over dinner at a nearby restaurant.

We hope you’ll be part of this meaningful and reflective afternoon together.

Space is limited, so please RSVP by Friday, May 29.
