As we approach the two-year anniversary of October 7, the stream of distressing news coming from Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank continues unabated. In the last few months, we’ve witnessed a new major Israeli offensive in Gaza, a dramatic worsening of the humanitarian catastrophe in the enclave, and ceasefire negotiations in Qatar collapse.

Meanwhile, 58 hostages from Israel remain in captivity, and violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank, perpetrated by both settlers and the military, continues to go unchecked.

Inside Israel, the ruling coalition is finding new ways to attack democratic institutions. But even in the face of violent intimidation, voices in Israel calling for a ceasefire, a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, and a peaceful democratic future for both Israelis and Palestinians are growing stronger.

To unpack all of this and more, please join us for a conversation with Elisheva Goldberg, NIF’s Senior Director of Media & Policy.
