The headlines from Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank continue to shift rapidly, reflecting both heartbreaking realities and glimmers of hope. Within recent days, Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of a U.S.-brokered peace plan that includes a ceasefire, the release of hostages and prisoners, and a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. There's a tremendous sense of relief that the remaining living hostages are now home, and the agreement offers a much-needed pause in violence and a pathway toward humanitarian relief. Yet many critical questions remain unanswered, including the future governance of Gaza, the rights of Palestinians, and the long-term prospects for peace and justice in the region.

Meanwhile, violence in the West Bank continues, democratic institutions within Israel face internal challenges, and voices advocating for a peaceful, democratic future for both Israelis and Palestinians grow louder.

To help us make sense of these developments and what they mean for the future, we invite you to join us for a timely and insightful conversation with Elisheva Goldberg, Deputy VP of Communications & Policy at the New Israel Fund.

Elisheva Goldberg is the senior director of media and policy for the New Israel Fund and a contributing writer for The Jewish Currents. She was an aide to former Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and has written for The Daily Beast, The Forward, The New Republic, and The Atlantic.
